Monitoring FAQ


Q: Can I access my monitored account remotely myself to make changes to the call list, run activity reports, and make updates to the emergency contact list?
A: Yes - we offer Dice Elink remote access to our customers who would like to administer changes to their monitoring accounts.

Q: I was told I needed two dedicated phone lines for monitoring my fire alarm system, is that true?
A: You will need two phone lines (referred to as POTS lines - plain old telephone service), but they do not have to be dedicated.  These lines can be used as a fax line, modem line, or voice.  You do need to keep in mind that when the fire alarm system is activated, it will disconnect the house side of the phone line (your fax, modem, or voice) so that it can place the call to the central station. 

Q: Our sprinkler company is testing our system and, to prevent the fire department from being dispatched, we would like to take our fire panel out of service for a few hours - who do I call?
A: You would need to contact CenterPoint our monitoring center at 314.236.5900 for any requirements to take your panel out of service.
