BACKGROUND:

Mascoutah Community Unit School District #19 is a public school district located 30 minutes from metropolitan St. Louis in southwestern Illinois. The district serves a large area in St. Clair County and several demographics, including rural, suburban, and military families given its proximity to Scott Air Force Base.

The district houses 5 schools—2 preschools, 3 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, and 1 high school.

With the increasing need to adapt classrooms for modern usage, Mascoutah CUSD #19 saw it necessary to introduce newer displays into the classroom to improve the interactive learning experiences for students. Teachers desired a way to involve students in the process of learning through technology such as using polls to engage the class and involve students in presenting information.

As a client of Tech Electronics for numerous years, Mascoutah CUSD #19 turned to their partner to fill their need for new AV systems in the classroom.

SOLUTION:

Tech installed NEC E651T Classroom Touchscreen Displays and specialized software that integrated with existing school technology such as laptops.

“Our technicians were able to work with the school district to find the right solution to fit their needs. The technology needed to be agnostic rather than use proprietary software, and our team delivered,”said Tech Electronics Director of Education Scott Knapp.

NEW CLASSROOM AV SYSTEMS PROVIDE STUDENTS AND TEACHERS BETTER INTERACTIVE LEARNING EXPERIENCES:

The investment in technology improved the learning environment for both students and teachers. The community at Mascoutah CUSD #19 was excited that the technology could allow them to engage deeply in classroom discussions with the material they were learning.

“We have had an outstanding relationship with Tech Electronics for years and experienced great service again with the touchscreen install. They took the time to make sure we were comfortable with the product on a trial basis before installing it throughout the district,” said Frank Williams, Executive Director of Business & Operations.

Tech Electronics provided insight and a high level of service, providing decision-makers an opportunity to become familiar with the technology before distributing it throughout the school system. The school district plans to order more touchscreens from Tech Electronics as a result of the successful upgrade of their AV systems and is satisfied with the continued high-quality service Tech provides.
