BACKGROUND:

St. Elizabeth of Hungary has been a flourishing parish in the heart of Crestwood since it opened its doors for the first mass in 1956. It is a community in the Archdiocese of St. Louis that remains committed to being missionary disciples who live the faith every day.

The church and school building are located on the “crest” of the hill just south of Thomas Sappington’s historic house. In 2004, St. Elizabeth school merged with St. Justin School. As a result, the unoccupied school building opened up ample space for the parish to use over time.

Fr. Brian S. Fallon, the church’s pastor, continuously strives to connect with his community through various programs and activities. In 2018, he and the stakeholders at St. Elizabeth of Hungary saw an opportunity to utilize one of the old school rooms for better audio-visual presentations during church activities.

SOLUTION:

Due to the growing number of worshippers now accustomed to new technologies, St. Elizabeth of Hungary saw the need to adapt and grow as well. As a client of Tech Electronics for 20 years, the church turned to the company to help them design a media room. Tony Badamo, Pro Sound Technology specialist for Tech Electronics, recommended a solution that would enhance the viewing experience of parishioners taking part in church activities.

“They asked us to provide a solution— we responded promptly, and we met all expectations. They were happy with the results of the system and the professional demeanor of the Tech team,” said Badamo.

They required a solution that would not only integrate seamlessly within the parameters of an out-of-date classroom, but provide crisp, clear sound and picture quality to those either presenting or viewing a presentation. St. Elizabeth of Hungary is now equipped with the latest technologies including:

  • A permanently mounted NEC NP-ME401W projector
  • A 65”x104” Da-Lite Model C manual projection screen
  • A seamlessly connected pair of Electro-Voice EVID S5.2 5” 2-way loudspeakers

According to Badamo, the Tech Electronics team installed the system efficiently and without any serious problems. They continuously walked the client through the process and answered any of their questions, ensuring the final delivered solution surpassed the customers’ expectations. “They even swept,” said a member at the church.

AN UPGRADED AV SYSTEM HELPS THE CHURCH REACH NEW GENERATIONS:

This worthwhile investment allowed St. Elizabeth of Hungary to enhance their evangelization in new and exciting ways. This ensures that the parishioners can hear and see the messages clearly during activities such as the parishioner programs. The people at St. Elizabeth of Hungary were impressed with the level of expertise and professionalism shown by everyone involved at Tech Electronics.

“They’re great people. They are knowledgeable and know what they’re doing. We’ve gotten a lot of use out of the system since installing,” said Joan Voskamp, Business Manager of St. Elizabeth of Hungary.

CONCLUSION

Tech Electronics focused on the customers’ needs by delivering an audio-visual solution that helped convert an underutilized elementary school room into a state-of-the-art media room. St. Elizabeth of Hungary is now able to enhance the worship experience, allowing the church to extend their reach to a new tech-savvy generation well into the future.
