Tech Electronics isn’t just a leading provider of fire, security, and AV systems, but also brings decades of experience to a project site when installing those systems.
With an average tenure of over 12 years, Tech’s construction team has experience and expertise that simply can’t be found anywhere else. Our project managers, project engineers, and field consultation technicians bring industry-leading knowledge to any site.
“Across the company, we just have an incredible, incredible team of technicians,” said Tech Electronics Project Manager John Peters. “I think that’s why people choose to work with Tech.”
Experience
Through each stage of a project, from planning to construction to completion to service, Tech’s experts bring the parts and smarts contractors need to implement low-voltage solutions while meeting deadlines, and code requirements.
Peters brings nearly 15 years of industry experience to the table, 10 of those years with Tech, and said his role as a project manager includes ensuring every member of the team is on the same page.
“We manage the schedule, we manage the labor, we manage the material, and we do what we can to make sure that at the end of the day, everything goes out, and the customer gets a solid product from Tech,” said Peters.
Project Engineer Valerie Kelsey has been with Tech for over a decade since she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. She carries both her NICET III and Notifier Factory certifications and plans to take her NICET IV exam next year.
“I look through all the construction drawings, even the mechanical and architectural,” said Kelsey. “There’s so much that our systems touch that we have to make sure we’re not missing anything.”
Field Consultation Technician Ron Oestricker has nearly 30 years of industry experience, both with Tech and other construction companies.
His expertise in how low-voltage systems need to be installed, and what steps need to be taken to ensure they are code-compliant and the best solution for the job are invaluable.
Oestricker carries manufacturer certifications with a number Tech’s partners including Genetec, Panasonic, Lenel OnGuard and Bosch Intrusion just to name a few.
“It evolves so quickly, and we have to keep up with the times and equipment that’s coming out in order to make sure we program it correctly,” said Oestricker.
Expertise
When those years of experience and industry knowledge are applied on-site, it means that not only are our partners empowered to meet deadlines, but are able to overcome the hurdles and shifting priorities that are an inevitability on any project.
“We’re here to be the ones that are able to roll with that change, and through that, continue to provide a good service for our customers,” said Peters.
In his time with Tech Peters has largely worked with security and fire and life safety systems, but the scope of those projects varied widely, from small one- or two-unit systems to entire buildings.
Kelsey said as a project engineer, quality control is always a priority, and when the details can get lost in confusion on a job site, she has an eye that can keep them in the microscope.
“We have a process in engineering for quality control with our drawings,” said Kelsey.
Oestricker added that they try to account for any potential issues in the design and planning process so that when changes take place, they are prepared.
“We’re trying to actually give them more information than they would have anywhere else,” said Oestricker.
