Overview

SWMW Law is a law firm based in downtown St. Louis, Missouri specializing in asbestos and personal injury litigation. Founded in 2012, the firm primarily represents individuals suffering from mesothelioma and other conditions related to asbestos or other toxic exposures. SWMW was operating on an outdated cloud VoIP system that was failing to meet the needs of their employees, as well as providing some unnecessary challenges for their technology administrator, so they turned to Tech for a solution.

THE STORY:

Tech Electronics migrated SWMW Law from their previous system to our new cloud voice offering, addressing multiple pain points with a single solution.

“One of the most obvious problems with our old system stemmed from the fact that our head secretary works from home two days a week,” said Christopher Eichhorn, Chief Technology Officer for SWMW Law. “Our old system made it difficult to have two phones mirrored with one another, and she was literally carrying her desk phone home and back to work multiple times a week. The new system allows her to switch seamlessly between the unit in the office and the one at home, and you can imagine what a relief that was.”

Apart from accommodating remote work, Eichhorn emphasized the manageability of the platform as another important attribute.

“Probably the single most important thing is that as an administrator, I have a lot more control over the system,” he said. “Previously, if I wanted to make changes to the way our system operates, I had to make a phone call in order to do it, whereas now I can handle it myself.”

Michelle Pozzo, Customer Base Account Manager for Tech Electronics, said that beyond current feature functionality, the cloud voice platform will continually demonstrate value as a long-term solution.

“When we were discussing what the customer wanted out of their phone system, things like call reporting and other similar functions were among the first things that came up, but they had an eye on the future as well,” Pozzo said. “They are still a relatively young and growing business, and will probably only continue to grow over time. A future-proof, scalable platform like this will allow them to easily add-on and adjust as their needs change.”

Eichhorn described the installation and implementation as very simple, and highlighted both Senior Systems Implementation Specialist Joyce Lemaster and Cloud Systems Administrator Jonathen Morris as excellent resources throughout the process. Overall, he describes SWMW’s experience since switching over to the new platform as extremely positive.

“The system provides all the features we were looking for and more, the Tech team was extremely responsive and helpful, and at the end of the day, it’s costing us less than our previous phone system was. It doesn’t get much better than that.”
